Question:  “What would you say are the top 3 problems that men experience today in the world?!

There are such polarity and struggle in relationships in these challenging times. The US against THEM, when in reality, most are struggling and wading through the quagmire of judgments, pain, hurt, conditioning, misunderstanding, misperceptions, vicious throughs, and actions.

It takes courage, knowledge, and time to break old patterns to find paths towards more living.

“Alchemy is the vibrational process of transmuting one thing into another.”

When a person is ready, willing, desires and open to improving and changing their life approach, to face habitual or tough life issues and relationships, the sense organs of the body activate in more heightened ways.

There is an energetic and vibrational shift internally that can be felt in stillness.

As the Phoenix rises from the ashes of fire the New Conscious Human rises through Alchemy to Transform Life

Shedding the False Self to find truth within the illusion of today’s world can be tough.  Personal life, business, career, relationships, finances, environment, creativity, spiritual seeking, religion, compassion, dominance, empathy and hate are all influenced by the lack of transparency and illusion we and others create for protection.

Yet there is one search for truth that may be the bedrock of our sanity, individually and as a humanity. It is the aeons old ‘Search for the True Self’. For I believe it is only through the finding and understanding of our own true self that the decisions made in life (both important and small) will be far more beneficial to the greater good on all.

Who Am I? Part 1Now this may seem presumptuous to some, yet sit back for a moment and check in with your life thus far. Ponder the moments when life seemed to be true and real and then ponder those times when all was falling apart…….where was truth of self and actions and where was deception playing out!

Knowing the False Self! Part 2

We all know people who believe they are defined by their $$$ and how many material possessions are owned. Often there is envy felt at why they have so much and we or others don’t. There are also those who believe bullying, violence and taking from others makes them powerful. And then there is the vast majority of people living each day hoping, struggling, pushing and working to ‘just get by’.

Astrology and Teachers Part 3In all where is contentment, joy, happiness, peace of mind and love of self and others? If all outer world trappings disappeared Who would you be? This is the question and search as old as people have lived.

My life has always been the search. My work has always been part of the search, even when I wasn’t consciously searching.

If you are searching for some answers and directions, here are three short audio pieces on questions, ideas, tools and perspectives to start with.

This is the beginning of a series to assist along the way. My background, education and experiences over so many years have honed me to live and hopefully assist others during these interesting and challenging times…….To learn more about Ophelia, her work and art visit

The archive to the right says the last posting was in January…where has the time gone and what has happened since then in your life and mine!

eclipse 4For me, I left beautiful and cold Mt Shasta in late January as my bones never seemed to get warm. Headed for Sonora to stay with friends before going to North Hollywood for 10 days to look after another friend’s animals while she traveled to the East Coast.

This was followed by a fun week of travel from Venture to Santa Cruz with a friend visiting from South Carolina. The day she left I headed for the Ojai Valley for what turned out to be a 2 month stay.

Initially I was scheduled to be at the Ojai Foundation for the month of May with the month’s prior filled by the known whys! Nestled in a valley east of Venture, Ojai has become not only a retirement and bedroom community of The Bay Area, it is also known as a spiritual and artistic mecca.

The large and diverse array of creative arts draws people from all over the world year round. The spiritual community is represented by organizations and centers such as The Krotona Theosophical Institute and School started by Helena Blavatsky in the 1920s, whose original mission was and still is to promote freedom of thought, freedom of society and the seeking of Higher Religious Truth.

Other spiritual communities in Ojai are The Krishnamurti Foundation of America, Meditation Mount, the teachings of Annie Besant and Beatrice Wood, the intentional communities of The Ojai Foundation and Elevate, as well as an array of varying religious and spiritual belief communities.

I visited and shared in the experiences of these main organizations through lecture series and events during my time in Ojai.

As the end of March rolled around I was none clearer as to why I was in the Valley. Then as I vowed to leave one night my guidance seemed to yell loudly “stay and be patient”.

Two day later an email from the Ojai Foundation…we have had two unexpected late cancelations in the programare you available and when can you arrive!

My question answered and so I turned up at the Ojai Foundation on April 6, a full month ahead of schedule!

This whole region is rich in history of the Chumash people, the arrival of the Europeans/Spanish and the Catholic Church. Rich as it may be, it is not without great pain, hardship, abuse, violation, greed and power struggles of  cultures and traditions at odds with each other and themselves.

The Ojai Foundation is set on a ridge of 40 areas within Happy Valley. This community was established over thirty years ago and has been serving as an example of intentional and substantial living and governing by the model of Council. I was especially interested in how Council governing worked as an ongoing model.

As is normal with me, full immersion into all areas of daily life was how I would see and feel the experience. Sleeping on the land (once again), participating and holding the space for meditation in the Council House most every morning for the month I was there, tending the shrines and gardens, doing the beauty way along with everyone else there. Assisting others when their work load for turning over spaces was tight whether in housekeeping or kitchen.  As well my physical body got one massive workout. Being on a ridge the areas of flat land are minimal so everywhere one walks, from one place to the next, is either a quarter mile up or down hill and some days the path between the upper land and offices, kitchen, cars was traversed 3,4,5 times…..heart, lungs and muscles not always rejoicing!

I was honored to share and hold space in the two Inipi or Sweat Lodge Ceremonies during my time on the land. Lodges held by humble, honorable and powerful Lodge Elders.

And most especially meeting and getting to know a group of wonderful dedicated and knowledgeable staff, work exchange participants, council members and guests on retreats (both personal and in groups).

It wasn’t until five days into my stay that even an inclining of why I was there and what was to be learn began to be revealed.

Wednesday was the departure morning for a group of ten or so women who had participate in a “Birthing Seminar for Eight Days.” I volunteered to help get the  sleeping domes in the Grove ready for the group arriving the next day….a group of high school seniors participating in a 5-Day Rites of Passage retreat. (For the previous twenty plus years, seniors from varying schools from Santa Monica and other areas would come to the Foundation for such retreats.)

As the simply process of cleaning, sweeping and beautifying each dome took place, from time to time I would sing….singing songs in languages other than English, accompanied by feelings and thoughts that were not mine. In each dome I left sprigs of lavender, rosemary and sage.

For many years in my intuitive and life alchemy work, it has not been uncommon to “act as a medium or go between for spirit world”.

It was in the third dome that I had an understanding come forth. Whoever had been staying in that dome had left a very distinct “imprint” (for lack of any other description at present) of a baby/child. My immediate sense and song that came forth was of “one that had been lost, was going to be lost or represented the woman herself who was lost!” It could have even been all of them!

In these immediate moments I do not analyze, question or judge. It is to just continue with the flow and honoring of the energy present – sing, pray, cry, dance, whatever is the mode of expression for as long as is necessary.

Then as fast as it has shown up it disappears and a sense of peace rests…my job is done!

That day there were a few other happenings and clearings. Later I briefly mentioned what happened in relation to the babies to my friend who had overheard the singing (for privacy I will leave out their names.) “Did you know that is area is known as the Children’s Grove!” Of course I didn’t!

What concerned me most of all and the underlying message to be gained was that the leader/facilitator of the Birthing Retreat probably had no idea that some of her participants were leaving “things behind” that could interfere with the next occupants – high school seniors – the following day.

The veils are becoming non-existent. In the world of the Unseen it is so easy (myself included) to miss, ignore or not pay attention to what is ours or not ours….what is of Light and what is Dark and Disruptive, what needs attention.

Please know to acknowledge the latter is not to focus on the negative. Yet to call it for what it is, even honor it for what has been revealed through the experience however NOW it is not required any more and transmutation to a new path/direction/power will be most beneficial for ITS evolution.

Some of you may find this approach difficult to accept yet as an example replace the dark and disruptive being with yourself on a very bad day and circumstance. How do you react? What do you want from the person/people involved? What is the real deep issue that no-one understands? Do you just want to be recognized or acknowledged? As the saying goes….negative attention is better than no attention at all….and thus bad behavior (in either world) is one way of getting it!)

I will leave you here to ponder these questions and perhaps a revelation or change in perspective will come forth.  If you are interested in an appointment contact me

I will continue the story in the next posting….hope you join me…..promise the wait won’t be long!

Read Full Post »

It appears the long wait is over. It is hard to believe my last real posting was two months ago…..it has been a time of much shifting, change, challenge, greatness love and loss. And I am not alone. Virtually everyone I know or come in contact with is going through this “void” yet in the long run (as blurred as all may appear) it is and will be a good thing.

Last week a dear friend loaned me a book and strongly suggested I take heed of the first chapter. This book was originally printed in 1961 and the copy I had was the seventh printing – 2002 “The Law and the Promise” by Neville. I have read the first chapter twice and completed the whole book once. I obviously needed a good reminder in creating new life paths!

If you experienced childhood and growing up like most of us, using and believing in our imagination was totally frowned upon, discouraged or downright outlawed. A child’s “make-believe” world was just that and could not possibly become anything productive, secure – financially or socially, acceptable or logical. The creative, make-believe world was one for the non-educated, losers, trouble-makers and eccentrics. And thus most of the education systems in the world “taught it (imagination) out of the child’s mind.”

The entire message within Neville’s book is about how to use, cultivate and hone our Imagination to create the world we want or desire around us. One challenge I had in reading it was the language Neville used, the language “appropriate” for the 1960s. His constant use of the word “Man” when referring to both men, women (seldom even mentioned) and humanity. Even though I completely understood what he meant a wave of discomfort came over me and the little inner voice started saying, sometimes angrily “what about women!” “what about the world! “do only men count!” This showed me how deep some social conditioning can still reach.

Yet, of course back in the 60’s, which was not so long ago, this was the reality in most parts of the world, even the civilized world. Women have been “allowed to vote” in many parts of the world since the late 1800s yet the image of “a woman’s place is in the home, only to serve husband and raising of children” was strongly portrayed in many television programs of the 50s, 60s and even into the 70s.

With the cultural and social movements throughout the 80s and 90s and into this new millennium the imaging of women in the world of business, creative arts, science, medicine, law and child-rearing has changed yet not everywhere…..thus there is more “imagining to do here!”

Neville states the key and secret to changing your reality is Self-abandonment! “You must abandon yourself mentally to your WISH FULFILLED in your love of that state, and in doing so, LIVE IN THE NEW STATE and no more in the old state. You can’t commit yourself to what you do not love, so the secret of self-commission is FAITH – plus LOVE.” In FEELING the wish fulfilled it must become a reality because imaging creates reality.

Another key that Neville mentioned of importance was to “re-imagine the past or past outcomes to recurring situations with an outcome that is of a higher, better or the best desired, to also feel and live with that scenario until it is totally real within as this will be the foundation for the new future outcome of the recurring situation. In other words “re-imagining the past can/will change the future.”

A possible example of this could be having a bad or challenging parent relationship which appears to have some genetic or heritage patterns. You re-imagine the best or most desired, even fairytale relationship, feel and live what it was/could have been, feel love for yourself and others. This may take some time, patience, forgiveness and work. Now when the similar relationship is in your life (say father/son or mother/daughter) be observant of subtle or not so subtle changes in interactions or emotions. Perhaps the old buttons are not being pushed quite so much or at all or you are not attracting people who create the similar stresses. It is at least worth a try!

This has taken me back into review of my life and most specifically all I have created and done in the past 13 years (since 2000) and how I would like to reinvent, enhance and recreate myself in the wonderful new paradigm we are in now. In reviewing I found that indeed ” my creative imagination, feeling and living in it” before any manifestation happened was and still is the flow. Most especially when I followed my heart and intuition. This also played/plays out when imagining from fear, loss and lack that were separate from my great learning journey of how the unseen world of dimensions manifest.

There are many examples of people with amazing imaginations revealed through all forms of The Arts as well as every other fields of business, health, science, technology and so forth. Our world is being taken to new galactic heights. There are and have always been the pioneers who open doors of possibilities yet to make real the Imagined it takes many, many, many more to use their gifts of imagining to participate in the creatitive manifestation for the new Reality.

Now it is time for a new imagining to be in synchronicity with the new paradigm of unity, collaboration and cooperation in melding and honoring the male and female, feminine and masculine and the balancing of opposites within and around each one of us.

The creative visions of imagination are for everyone to access, to live from and be in love with. Imagining the highest Reality desired for it to be Created.

The full interview can been seen in Parts at Earth Spirit Journeys You Tube Channel.    Part 1

The Journey of Becoming is not just about women and cannot happen with only women interacting. Men are doing the journey and are integral to the balance of showing the progress of evolving consciousness. We need each other to help along the way and most especially to show us how far we have come or not in our own journey. We are the measuring sticks for each other, such an important role to play.

My little camera is plain and simple but I thought it would capture both shapes of sun and moon….Don’t you love the huge matrix orb above the sun.  What a special day!

I had my labyrinth out on the grass in between the mountain and the eclipse….Mt Shasta holds the crystal frequency of the Root Chakra/the tone of OM for the planet. The OM symbol is in the center of my labyrinth.

At the peak of the Moon covering the Sun there was a young high school senior walking the journey into and out of the labyrinth…..powerful time for all!

Have to run now but I will write more in a day or so…..time disappears even more than usual.  Blessings to all this day!

I had not planned on writing this particular posting today, in fact I have been working on the topic of Language, Leadership and Labyrinths in preparation for a series of seminars I will be presenting. Although upon reflection it actually has everything to do with Language and Leadership!

While surfing the following headline caught my eye and so a click followed suit.

Michele Bachmann Anti-Abortion Rally: Former GOP Presidential Candidate Speaks At Event

“Here on our watch we will stand, we will stand for life, we will never forget, we will never give up, and next year we will gather in a day of celebration when we have finally ended abortion in this all important election,” she said. “Join me this year. Choose life.” This is the quote from the Huffington Post piece.

Well, it brought back some similar feelings when George W. Bush made reference to “Every Life has Value” at a speech at Kansas State in 2006 or so.

In 2006-7 season, I decided to put the issue out to my television audience at the time, here is the transcript on The Meaning of ProLife. In light of our current world situation, deep thought is once again appropriate.

The Meaning of Prolife

“There is a very fine line that is crossed in this debate

Let me ask you these questions:

If you believe in Prolife is it applicable in all areas of life!

Is it still an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth

In taking a stance for Prolife,  do you also believe in:

The Death Penalty,

The NRA,

Military Action,

Do you support placing guns in the hands of the children you saved through pro life that are now adults!

Do you rejoice when the enemy is killed and want retaliation when your own are killed!

Is it win at any cost!

Is a Prolife stance only a display for Political and Social acceptance!

Does a Prolife stance only affect select portions of the population!

Does death justify death and revenge override forgiveness!

And then if one holds a strong religious belief and faith in the Original and True teachings of Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, The Tao and Native American teachings, wisdoms   and any other discipline that is Truly Guided by the Essence of God, Divine Love, Compassion and Heart Centered Action

Can any of the above mentioned be supported with conviction?

What does your heart and soul say!

It is for YOU to make the decision

For You cannot support Both and not be a hypocrite!

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And I will included the transcript for another piece presented to my audience titled Return to Arlington.
In preparation:
The view through the lens of the eye is of row after row, street after street, hill after hill of crosses, well ordered and manicured to cover the tragedy beneath. At the top of the hill, a glance through a space in the trees reveals the coldness of THE PENTAGON. A sign nearby reads “SILENCE AND RESPECT.
Return to Arlington
Who has determined that this ultimate life sacrifice is to the benefit of all – Where is the proof?
Where is the benevolence on the path leading to this resting place?
If each held in their heart that theirs was an honorable fight to end all fights, What can now be said!
Life to Death, the Illusion of Ultimate Deception!
Such honors were bestowed,
Only is it because of responsibility lost that they lie here now!
Those who come in droves to see, they wander as though numb to the message within the ethers of the land?
They walk as zombies following the paths, yet seeing not the lives before them.
So few have died in this land. So few have souls free of pain.
Perhaps they stayed in lands distant from this place, hearts wrenching with the knowing of deeds passed on and platitudes resounding through the air.
It is not of them, it never was nor ever will be,
Love and hate so closely tied, the bond of infinity seldom lies.
It is not of the land alone – it is of peoples and hearts undone.
Breathe in Life, breathe in death, one in the same, a mirror of the time.
It is not of you
You are not me
Yet as it flows to stream and sea
Hearts and Soul connect
So Mote It Be!
A mother cries in a distant land, the child she bore is here no more.
There is no home on this land here – this land is the same on a distant shore
A wail, a cry, an anguished heart –
Who says what is right
Who says what is not
The anger in the hearts of men, admonished power, relentless in the need for greed.
No right or wrong in the Angel’s Soul, for light shines forth in this illusion of the death
A life to claim and a life to live,
For those who rest a while, then move beyond the confines of this mortal place.
“Silence and Respect”.    It is time for silence no more –
How many more mother and fathers, brothers and sisters, sons and daughters have to return here before the “ the Inner Soul of this Nation” yells ENOUGH!
(In May 2007 I took DVD copies of these two video pieces to Capital Hill and delivered them to the office’s of numerous Senators. Did they ever look at them – I doubt it!)
Who inspires you? Is there anyone who has touch you in such a way that you are lost for words!
People generally answer this question with the names of someone famous, powerful, has lots of money, or perhaps a teacher or relative that touched their lives early on. My father’s (now 89 and still creatively working) creativity and perseverance has inspired me, although I do know that at times in his life he has not been a nice person, so to speak. There are not really a lot or actually anyone I could name that I would “like to be or emulate!” There are those who do great work yet it is the unnamed or little known and quiet beings that inspire me. I was inspired by the peasants I met in the several “slave camps” on sugar cane plantations in Haiti and Dominican Republic. When leaving one camp, a woman carried a huge branch of bananas out to our bus and in her mix of Haitian Creole repeated ‘merci, merci, (thank you, thank you!) No, I was thanking her and the village for their gift of open spirit!
In such less than ideal situations their spiritual joy and strength and the bright colors in their art glistened through only to magnify the lack of spiritual joy and strength exhibited by most of the members of the group I was traveling with. Material wealth, which is relative, does not translate into the higher realms by any stretch of the imagination. Today more than ever!
Re-igniting Creative Force
In the past couple of weeks my world has been one of seeing and feeling my re-igniting creative force within theater, dance and inspiring people. And it would seem that each experience came effortlessly into happening.
It started with the last minute decision to go to a “one man show – Gross, Mystical” by Eliot Fintushel on the poems and writings of Walt Whitman’s  Leaves of Grass. He did an incredible performance not only bringing Whitman’s words to life but also his playing instruments such as a hurdy-gurdy, waterphone, sruti, and bulbul tarang. The small audience present was gifted by such talent!
The following night, Sunday, was picnicking with a friend in the park before watching a slightly more modern version (Costume wise) of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing. Even though there were not a huge amount of people in the audience, the actors did a wonderful performance and audience participation provided many light hearted moments.
My out of practice body got to move and swing on the dance floor. My friend Paul is a former improv dancer so it was fun going between venues of improv/ecstatic dance and what seemed the more sedate remembering of a room full of 40-70 year olds dancing to a band of well worn turns. Michael Boliver and his sax added a nice blend into the mix. I laughed at myself as well as others!
The creative flow again continued at a wonderful celebration for the new book by a truly amazing theater couple who have been married/performed together for 50 years. Conrad Bishop and Elizabeth Fuller of the Independent Eye, Visionary Theatre read from their book. I was so touched and amazed at their story, life dedication to their craft, creative power and expression, their humility, sense of humor and truth. As I listened my tears freely flowed as I could so identify with what they had endured, created, had rejected, lost, won and all the while kept going…..I laughed at their stories of travels and situations that I could also identify with. Most of all I felt a pain of understanding when they shared performing for an audience of 3, a creation that had taken months and months to evolve and put out. At one point it was read (paraphrasing) “we know we will never be famous or will ever make a lot of money….we create because that is what we have to do!” Their book is “Co-Creation – Fifty Year in the Making.
Another gathering I attended last Saturday was in Guerneville at the Center for Sacred Studies. This was an afternoon of conversation with Grandmother Flordemayo, President/Member of the International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers. Amid a generous gathering she shared some of her plant medicine and wisdom and stories of her own journey and her very personal connection to the ancient mystery of the Crystal Skulls. To learn about these thirteen grandmothers watch the wonderful film on their journey to create world peace.
Re-igniting Creative Force is taking me back to the time I was creating/hosting a television program and writing for Conscious-Awakening Theatre as well as my connection to quite a few people who are now making major moves in their lives. Some across the country, others to distant lands.
The topic is STORAGE and POSSESSIONS. And moving always brings it up to face directly. Paying for storage is paying rent or a mortgage on the past! Possessions possess us! Money can also mean “Material Obligations Neutralize Evolving Yourself!” From Awakening and Igniting Ecstasy In-Formation…New Twists on Money, Power, Sex and Death”
Writings, video, exercises, consultations and seminars will take you through many journeys to come to terms with, raise above and even let go of the obsessive possession of Possessions!
Don’t be scared…..I’ll be gentle……I have been where you are and know the pit falls and the great release is a gift!
Until next time……
